Babycakes is a labour of love. It’s what I have made out of years of several scribbled, feverishly footnoted and very yellowed recipes, aided by a loyal oven. Babycakes was launched at an intimate birthday dinner in August 2009 amid jugs of Sangria and heaps of good wishes. I recall handing out a menu with a personal message to each of my friends right after I was done cutting the cake and clinking flutes. The drumrolls of the festive processions on the streets that night rang in my first year as a professional baker, and what a year it has been! Many thanks for your enthusiastic support and candid feedback. I am pleased to launch Year 2 of Babycakes.
